Congressional Visit

All,
    Last week I met with Congresswoman Nancy Boyda (Dem 2nd District Kansas). The meeting went well, she seems to be on our (PASS) side as far as contracting out goes. Her assistant also stated that they have been getting numerous calls from GA (General Aviation) about the poor performance of FS-21/Lockheed Martin Flight Services.  It's good to know that at least 1 Congressional Rep is on our side. I would encourage everyone to try and set up a meeting with their Rep. as it can't hurt.

FS-21 Woes

All,
      One of the agenda items covered at last week's Chapter meeting was FS-21 Lockheed Martin. As most of you know by now, Lockheed Martin took over the Flight Service stations after they won the bid to contract out the jobs. This is after the A-76 study a few years back. It should be obvious to everyone that our jobs are NOT secure. Your job could be the next one contracted out to Lockheed Martin or Raytheon.  So far, Lockheed Martin, or FS-21 as they like to call themselves has done a very poor job. They miss issueing NOTAMS, don't cancel them, or just issue the wrong NOTAM. We're talking about air safety not FYI stuff. Anyway, what I'd like to ask of you all is that if/when you have problems with FS-21/Lockheed Martin, PLEASE post your experience here on this thread in the comments section. Thank You!

PASS Convention

Dates for the convention are August 6-8/2007!  Site is Chicago, IL.  See www.passnational.org for more info!  Call your chapter president or vice-president if you want to attend.

News from Chapter VP

KN1 Members,

Here it is April and we still don't have any takers on Convention! (Unless there is/are someone I'm not aware of)  If any of you fine folks in Kansas or Nebraska are interested in going to this summer's convention in Chicago please respond soon. As far as I know there are only 2 members attending from KN1 (both delegates) and I'd like to see a better showing from Kansas/Nebraska. I know that 1 delegate from KC area would be willing to car-pool up to Chicago.....

    Also, PASS is still looking for award nominations.....
